The 'Akahana Mame' runner bean comes to us from Japan... This climbing bean boasts the spectacular bright-red flowers typical of the species, which are very attractive to hummingbirds. These are followed by plump green pods 20 cm long. When ripe, the large seeds are black with purplish-red mottling. The flowers, green pods or dried seeds can be eaten. Very prolific variety. Approximately 85 days to maturity.<\/p>\n
