Or sow directly in the garden in May. The final spacing between <\/span><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">plants about 20-30 cm apart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most cousteline seeds will germinate in 10 days, but with a little patience you'll get an even better germination rate. It offers a magnificent rosette of leaves with a sweet, slightly salty taste. Its texture is firm without being tough or fibrous until (and even during) flowering. Its foliage is an original and nutritious complement to our green salads. Ideal for diversifying our sources of greens. The quality of the leaves would be enhanced by a semi-shaded position of the plant in midsummer and\/or constant watering. We haven't tested it yet, but both leaves and roots can be eaten cooked, as in the\u00a0<em>preboggi\u00f2n,<\/em>a mixture of wild cooked plants from the Italian Riviera. It takes about 2 months from transplanting in the garden to the first harvest to obtain a nice handful of leaves per plant.
