Not surprisingly, 'Merlot' lettuce is wine-red. The darkest possible lettuce red. With its crisp, wax-like leaves and upright, curled edges, it's superb at all stages of growth, forming open apples at maturity. A good choice for successive harvests of young leaves. Very resistant to bolting.
